About the Department

The Department of Bioinformatics was started in the year 2008, to facilitate the teaching and research in the interdisciplinary areas of Structural Bioinformatics, Computational Genomics and Proteomics to create an intellectual environment for interdisciplinary education and training. The Department has emerged as an excellent vibrant academic department and research centre in Alagappa University. Department aim is to develop the advance strengthens teaching and research environment to the emerging desires of the scientific community.
